NEW YORK – Il Late Show finisce oggi 20 maggio e il presentatore David Letterman va in pensione. In queste ultime puntate di uno degli show televisivi tra i più longevi della storia della televisione americana, partecipano molti ospiti famosissimi che hanno reso omaggio a Letterman. Non sono mancati neanche i momenti di amarcord che hanno raccontato tutti gli anni di trasmissione.
Tra gli ospiti della puntata di martedì 19 maggio c’era Bill Murray che fu il primo ospite in assoluto di David Letterman al Late Night Show su NBC nel 1982. Con la serata di oggi, saranno 6.028 le puntate complessive dello show trasmesse dalla rete. In da sin dal lontano 1982, prima sulla Nbc, poi dal 1992 sulla Cbs, il ‘Late Show’ è stato condotto per 32 anni da David Letterman, considerato come una sorta di precursore del talk show ‘made in Usa’. Dopo l’annuncio del suo ritiro a 66 anni, lo scorso aprile, la Cbs ha scelto come sostituto Stephen Colbert, noto conduttore del programma satirico ‘The Colbert Report’. Nella sua lunga carriera David Letterman ha incontrato i personaggi più amati e controversi alcuni dei quali: Barack e Michelle Obama, David Cameron, Michael Douglas, Denzel Washington, Johny Depp, Nicole Kidman, Paris Hilton, Paul McCartney, gli U2, Harrison Ford e Bill Clinton.
