LONDRA – Kate Middleton, completo color crema firmato Alexander McQueen al battesimo della figlia Charlotte. Quest’ultima, quarta nella linea di successione al trono britannico, è stata battezzata oggi a Sandringham, nel Norfolk, dove risiedono i genitori William e Kate. La Duchessa di Cambridge è apparsa elegantissima con il suo outfit firmato dalla casa di moda britannica, la stessa scelta per l’abito delle nozze.
La cerimonia è stata officiata dall’arcivescovo di Canterbury Justin Welby, il quale ha utilizzato la fonte battesimale facente parte dei gioielli della corona, riempito con dell’acqua del fiume Giordano, dove si dice sia stato battezzato Gesù. Kate ha raggiunto la chiesa di Santa Maria Maddalena portando il tradizionale passeggino con le ruote argentate Millsom, mentre William teneva la mano dell’erede George, salutando la folla. Dopo una cerimonia durata circa mezz’ora, i reali hanno cominciato a uscire dalla chiesa.
Tra gli invitati anche la regina Elisabetta II e il principe Filippo, duca di Edimburgo; il nonno paterno Carlo e la moglie Camilla; i nonni materni Michael e Carole Middleton; i fratelli di Kate, Pippa e James.
