A causare il problema alla vista sarebbe stata l’eccessiva sensibilità alla luce provocata da questa condizione, che provoca un aumento della pressione tale da danneggiare il nervo ottico. Questo è il motivo per cui Bono è inseparabile dai suoi occhiali, diventati nel tempo un suo tratto distintivo.
