AURORA (STATI UNITI) – Greg Zanis, l’uomo originario dell’Illinois che nel 1999 depose 15 croci vicino alla Columbine High School dopo la strage in cui morirono 13 persone più i due assalitori, domenica 22 luglio è arrivato ad Aurora per ripetere il rito.
Zanis ha collocato 12 croci su la strada che conduce al cinema Century 16, dove giovedì notte il 24enne James Holmes ha sparato contro la folla riunita per assistere alla prima del nuovo film di Batman. Le croci sono tutte uguali, bianche, di legno, alte circa un metro.
Zains spiega di aver ricevuto molte richieste per portare le croci sul luogo della tragedia. Qui è arrivato anche il sindaco di Aurora, Steve Hogan, il quale ha posto la mano su una di esse e ha recitato una preghiera assieme a Zanis. A Columbine due delle croci erano state dedicate anche ai giovani assassini, Eric Harris e Dylan Klebold, che al termine della strage si erano tolti la vita.
