TORONTO (CANADA) – Centinaia di uomini su tacchi a spillo hanno sfilato tra gli Stati Uniti e il Canada per manifestare contro la violenza sulle donne.
La manifestazione itinerante “walk a mile in her shoes” è nata con lo scopo di raccogliere fondi per la difese delle donne vittime di violenza e per sensibilizzare gli uomini. “Un paio d’ore sui tacchi alti – ha detto Todd Minerson – organizzatore della campagna – non può risolvere questo problema, ma se può aiutare gli uomini a capire cosa fare nella propria vita quotidiana per aiutare le proprie mogli, già è un grande risultato”.
Gli organizzatori sperano di raccogliere 145 mila dollari. I soldi andranno a finanziare la campagna nastro bianco, che offre programmi educativi per i giovani sulla prevenzione della violenza. “Walk a mile in her shoes”, quest’anno è arrivata alla sua quarta edizione.
