Per la Williams si tratta del diciottesimo successo in un torneo del Grande Slam. Serena è l’attuale numero 1 del mondo a partire dal febbraio 2013. Diventata numero 1 per la prima volta nel luglio 2002, è la sorella minore di Venus Williams.
