FREETOWN (SIERRA LEONE) – Uno scimpanzé guarda i turisti dall’interno della rete metallica di Tacugama , il santuario degli scimpanzè della Sierra Leone.
Situato vicino a Freetown, la capitale della Sierra Leone, il Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary copre un’area di 4 chilometri quadrati, in un’area che si trova vicino ad una foresta protetta.
Fondata da Bala Amarasekaran nel 1995, Tacugama si prende cura di più di 100 scimpanzé posizionati in diversi recinti boscosi. A curare le scimmie, ci sono circa 30 volontari (foto LaPresse)
