PORT MORESBY (PAPA NUOVA GUINEA) – Il principe Carlo e sua moglie Camilla, duchessa di Cornovaglia hanno lasciato Port Moresby, capitale della Papua Nuova Guinea, al termine della loro visita di tre giorni nel Paese. La coppia reale britannica ha deposto una corona di fiori davanti al memoriale di guerra di Ela beach e ha incontrato i veterani australiani della seconda Guerra Mondiale, giunti a Port Moresby in occasione del settantesimo anniversario della campagna Kokoda Trail, dove si fronteggiarono contro le truppe giapponesi che volevano invadere la Papua Nuova Guinea.
A seguito di una cerimonia ufficiale presso l’aeroporto di Port Moresby, la coppia a bordo di un aereo della Royal Australian Air Force è volata a Longreach,nel Queensland.
