PARIGI – Il governo francese ha presentato al Parlamento il progetto di legge che prevede la legalizzazione dei matrimoni tra persone dello stesso sesso e il diritto per le coppie omosessuali di adottare bambini. Il ministro della Giustizia, Christiane Taubira, ha detto ai deputati che il provvedimento rappresenta un “atto di eguaglianza” e ha notato che “il matrimonio diventerà finalmente un’istituzione universale”.
La promessa di “matrimoni per tutti” fatta dal presidente François Hollande durante la campagna elettorale ha diviso i francesi; nelle ultime due settimane centinaia di migliaia di persone hanno manifestato a Parigi a favore o contro la bozza di legge. “Non abbiamo mai sottovalutato l’importanza di questa riforma”, ha detto Taubira nel discorso al Parlamento. Il governo ha fatto alcune concessioni agli oppositori della legge, promettendo di sostituire i termini ‘madre’ e ‘padre’ con ‘genitore 1’ e ‘genitore 2’ in documenti ufficiali. Il voto del Parlamento sul provvedimento è previsto entro due settimane.
