PRETORIA (SUDAFRICA) – Nelson Mandela è morto solo lo scorso 5 dicembre a 95 anni e a Pretoria è stata svelata una statua gigante in suo onore.
Alla cerimonia, nella festività nazionale della Giornata della riconciliazione, ha partecipato il presidente Kacob Zuma. Le bande militari hanno suonato e gli aerei militari hanno volato in onore di Mandela. La statua dell’ex presidente e leader della lotta contro l’apartheid si trova vicino agli Union Buildings, dove tenne il discorso inaugurale dopo essere stato eletto primo presidente nero del Sudafrica, nel 1994. Il luogo, per molti sudafricani, è un simbolo del regime dell’apartheid.
