CARACAS (VENEZUELA) – Mariana Jimenez è la nuova Miss Venezuela. La crisi economica che da tempo attanaglia il Paese sudamericano non è riuscita a fermare il concorso, in un paese noto per essere una specie di fabbrica della bellezza.
La cerimonia quest’anno è stata un po’ austera e senza la presenza di pop star internazionali. Mariana ha 20 anni e fa la studentessa.
Il Venezuela vive una specie di ossessione per la bellezza: il paese che fu governato da Hugo Chavez ha infatti vinto più concorsi internazionali di qualsiasi altra nazione, e ha piazzato ben tre Miss nelle ultime sei edizioni della più bella dell’Universo. Una di queste è ancora in carica e si chiama Maria Gabriela Isler. Ed è stata proprio lei ad incoronare la giovane Mariana che presto potrebbe prendere il suo posto diventando la più bella dell’Universo.
