LONDRA Quindici anni dopo la sua morte, Lady Diana rimane nel cuore della gente. La ‘principessa del popolo’ mori’ a 36 anni il 31 agosto del 1997, in un incidente d’auto a Parigi: era in macchina, inseguita dai paparazzi, insieme al suo ultimo fidanzato, Dodi al Fayed, il figlio di Mohammed, discusso e ricchissimo proprietario dei magazzini Harrods a Londra.
Diana aveva sposato ad appena vent’anni l’erede al trono del Galles, il principe Carlo, da sempre innamorato di un’altra donna, Camilla Parker-Bowles (che ha sposato nel 2005): gli aveva dato due figli, i principe William e Harry, senza riuscire a conquistarne il cuore. Tormentata e infelice, Diana fu per anni la protagonista del jet-set, alimentando le cronache rosa con glamour e pettegolezzi. Il culto della sua figura, mito di eleganza e fascino, rimane tuttora e, almeno per il momento, sembra destinato a restare insuperato.
