ATLANTIC CITY (NEW JERSEY, STATI UNITI) – Si chiama Kira Kazantsev, ha 22 anni ed è originaria dello Stato di New York. LA ragazza è Miss America 2015. La nuova reginetta è stata incoronata durante una cerimonia che si è tenuta stanotte al Boardwalk Hall di Atlantic City, in New Jersey.
La giovane riceverà una borsa di studio da 50mila dollari, che intende sfruttare per studiare giurisprudenza, e ha annunciato che dedicherà il suo anno da reginetta per lottare contro la violenza domestica e gli abusi sessuali nell’esercito. È la terza volta consecutiva che la corona viene assegnata a una rappresentante dello Stato di New York.
Durante il concorso Kazantsev ha fatto scalpore cantando ‘Happy’ di Pharrell Williams a cappella, battendo il ritmo con un bicchiere di plastica rosso. “Volevo dimostrare a tutte le ragazzine in America che si può scegliere qualsiasi tipo di esibizione e vincere lo stesso, e al tempo stesso divertirsi tantissimo”, ha spiegato la nuova Miss America.
