LONDRA – Giornata ricca di divertimento tra i ragazzi per Kate Middleton, che ha preso parte al Beaver Scout Meeting a Londra. Si tratta di un gruppo scout nuovo, appena fondato.
Kate lo ha visitato per sostenere la campagna dell’associazione scout nazionale britannica ‘Meglio preparati’, che ha l’obiettivo lanciare la proposta scout in duecento luoghi di tutto il Regno Unito nei quali il reddito medio è inferiore rispetto alla media nazionale e l’offerta educativa del movimento può avere un impatto positivo.
In effetti, il movimento scout fu fondato da un militare inglese, Robert Baden-Powell, tra la fine dell’Ottocento e l’inizio del Novecento, proprio con la funzione di recuperare una generazione di inglesi disoccupati e con scarsi livelli di formazione, ed educarli a un atteggiamento positivo e costruttivo verso la società.
Oltre un secolo dopo, lo stesso movimento si ritrova più o meno ad essere investito dello stesso ruolo. In queste immagini, Kate aiuta un ragazzino a distribuire una crema su un dolcetto con gli occhi bendati. L’obiettivo è sensibilizzare il ragazzo alle tematiche della disabilità, in particolare con questo gioco a quello della cecità. Un esercizio che serve a far capire ai ragazzi le difficoltà a cui va incontro chi ha problemi di motricità fine.
