TEHERAN (IRAN) – L’Iran ha annunciato di aver messo in orbita una scimmia a bordo di una navetta spaziale, come primo passo verso l’invio di propri astronauti nello spazio previsto per il 2020. La navetta Pishgam (Pioniere) ha raggiunto un’altitudine di 120 chilometri per un volo sub-orbitale e poi è rientrata integra sulla Terra, hanno riferito i media di Teheran, sottolineando che la scimmia è sopravvissuta.
Nel 2011 una missione analoga tentata dall’Iran era fallita, senza che la repubblica islamica fornisse spiegazioni. In passato aveva già sperimentato l’invio in orbita di un ratto, di tartarughe e di vermi. L’Occidente guarda con sospetto al programma spaziale di Teheran che, al pari di quello nucleare, potrebbe nascondere finalita’ militari.
