PECHINO – Al via la visita di Michelle Obama in Cina, che durerà una settimana. Il suo viaggio è cominciato in una scuola superiore di Pechino, dove la first lady degli Stati Uniti che si è cimentata con la scrittura degli ideogrammi.
Insieme con lei c’era, oltre alla madre e alle sue figlie Sasha e Malia, anche la moglie del presidente cinese Xi Jinping, Peng Liyuan. La first lady, con l’aiuto di uno studente di 16 anni, si è cimentata nella scrittura cinese cercando di disegnare l’ideogramma che esprime la parola ‘eterno’. “Sono nervosa”, ha detto Michelle Obama. Lo stesso studente si è detto nervoso, ma anche “elettrizzato”. “La first lady è così amichevole, è stata molto cordiale”, ha commentato il 16enne.
La visita alla scuola rappresenta il primo incontro fra Obama e Peng, i cui mariti gestiscono la prime due economie mondiali e stanno cercando di costruire nuove relazioni basate sulla fiducia e il rispetto reciproci. Dopo l’impegno nella scuola, Peng ha accompagnato le donne della famiglia Obama all’ex palazzo imperiale di Pechino, alla cui visita sono seguite una cena privata e uno spettacolo. Domani Michelle Obama pronuncerà un discorso alla prestigiosa università di Pechino e domenica visiterà la Grande muraglia.
