A friend with a new baby called to say she had forgotten just how thick and green new baby’s bowel movements are! (After all it’s been several years since her last baby.) The truth is that meconium is normal in your baby’s body. Though there are times when it can be a problem. Do you know when that is? Typically we talk about meconium being a sign of fetal distress during birth. That is only part of the picture. Sometimes it’s normal, sometimes it’s not.
