Mark Staehely was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma, a painful nerve cancer, when he was 12 years old. However, it didn’t stop his generous spirit.

Although he lived in a world full of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, he founded a local toy drive in Shorewood, Ill. for other children coping with cancer.

What started as a small event grew into a popular community charity. The toy drive received thousands of toys for distribution this year, reports MSNBC.
