The No. 2 ranked golfer in the world was on his way to Augusta, but his private jet had to make an emergency landing after a fire broke out in the cockpit.
According to The Telegraph, Westwood was leaving from Houston with his manager Chubby Chandler, golfer Ross Fisher and two caddies.
“We were a couple of minutes out of the airport,” Westwood reportedly said. “It was a bit scary. It never looks good when you can smell smoke and you turn round and see the pilots have put the masks on.”
