Kansas City was one of the biggest surprises of the season, going 10-6 and winning the AFC West. Quarterback Matt Cassel threw for 3116 yards and 27 touchdowns while the Chiefs had the No. 1 ranked running game in the league. The Baltimore Ravens finished second in the AFC North behind the Pittsburgh Steelers, who owned the tie-breaker. They won their last four games and to improve to 12-4 and the defense was one of the best once again, ranking fifth in opposing rushing yards.
