ABC News’ global health series, “Be The Change,” kicks off Friday night. The series, which is being funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, kicks off with a day of reporting from ABC’s news team and a special episode of “20/20.”
ABC News journalists will fan out around the world to report on six of the planet’s top health problems. For instance, Dr. Richard Besser, the network’s medical correspondent, went to Bangladesh to report on the lack of clean water, and Elizabeth Vargas will report on India’s medical issues. In addition, Diane Sawyer will contrast a hospital in Brooklyn with one in Afghanistan.
There is also a new website being launched, “SaveOne.net,” which will serve as a hub for global health news.
